The CT Local Administrators of Social Services (CLASS) is a membership organization made up of more than 180 members across 75 municipalities and organizations throughout Connecticut. Members share ideas, work towards common goals and advocate for changes that will improve the lives of all Connecticut residents, especially the most vulnerable. CLASS was founded as CALAGA in 1958.

Membership Benefits

Our individual members are aided greatly by the support and resources offered by CLASS. Benefits of membership include:

• A robust listerv that allows members to share ideas, access information and brainstorm.
• Opportunities for in-person education and networking on a local, regional and statewide level.
• Best practices protocols to ensure an optimal response to social service needs such as hoarding, relocation and homelessness.
• Training modules to assist municipalities with onboarding newly hired social service employees.
• A voice at the CT State Legislature to offer our perspective as municipal social service providers and to advocate on behalf of the residents we serve.

Mission Statement

CLASS:

• Initiates and facilitates discussions about the needs, challenges and solutions in the field of social services at the municipal, regional and state level.
• Promotes and, whenever possible, enhances the well-being, self-sufficiency and quality of life of the residents of Connecticut.
• Provides education and support to members in an effort to develop programs and initiatives that will help Connecticut residents achieve their fullest potential.
